Boredom in Chaos.

So, I guess somewhere in my seriously insane life, I became bored. I'm not exactly sure why, but I have decided to completely remodel my house, minus most of Christian's room and the basement. Yes, my husband is ready to walk out on me...

FIRST: Lou's Room. This is a rough draft. I am yet to pick out a rug, but here's what I got so far...
(1) Sew Oversized Balloon Shades in either Raspberry or White (2) Bench
(3) Relocate White Armoire from Dining Room to Lou's Room (4) Pink Pouf

SECOND: Living Room. I used to love my living room, but now I'm over it. It is a really long room and a little awkward.

(1) Framed Abstract Art (2) Black Side Tables I already own (another option) (3) Pillows (4) Couch (5) Pillows (6) Lamps I already own from HomeGoods (7) Coffee Table Books
(8) Rustic Coffee Table I already own (another option) (9) Rug

I NEED to find vintage credenza to Restore to use as media center. I am literally on Craig's List everyday looking for one! A few leads, but no luck yet.

(1) Framed Abstract Art (2) Round Brass Mirror (3) Horse Head (4) Topiary (5) Wing Chairs I already own (another option) (6) Oval Brass Table I already own (another option) (7) Zebra Hide

I'll show you my changes for the study and our dining room/kitchen next week. PS We are (*fingers crossed*) starting the kitchen in November!!! I seriously can not wait.

Have a great weekend! We will be in good ol' Wayne, Pennylvania for another wedding!

LouLand.

Since we have been traveling so much, my house has become a big "To Do List." I have so much I need to get done, but not nearly enough time to do it. Priority wise, I need to finish my daughter's bedroom first. Lou's room is an absolute mess right now. However, I seriously have NO idea what direction I want to go in. I literally have two pieces of furniture that must stay in her room: (1) The Crib & (2) A Pink Leather Pouf. Here are some current pictures:

My original board for her room was:

Which I now hate most of. I just can not decide what to do! Here are some more inspiration photos I have pinned:

I think I am leaning towards the bright, eclectic pink & orange room. HOWEVER, there is this huge part of me that wants to do a neutral, gold, & animal print thing. I know I just need to buy a rug and commit. These are my options, all from Overstock...

So what is a girl to do...any thoughts?!

4 Down. 4 To Go.

We are back! We had such a beautiful weekend at my sister-in-law's wedding. The weather was perfect, the setting was lovely, and the bride and groom were happy as clams. My sister Ali was the photographer and just started editing the pictures, she took over 3,000 shots!!! Needless to say, she has her work cut out for her, but she posted a little preview last night...

The Family...a mess as usual

My son, the grouch.

A lot of people asked me where I bought all our outfits. The kids were almost entirely Zara, head to toe. Christian's bow tie was vintage (a.k.a. Jon's first ever bow tie from his tux). Lou's hair bow was Walmart (for those that have girls, Walmart has the best bows, hands down).

Lou: Zara Dress No Longer Available & Leather Ballerina Flat With Petals.

My dress was from Nordstrom, the juniors department!! I love love love it, literally everyone asked me where I got it. I wore a pair of Steve Madden patent black, open toe platform heels from last year, a bright red lip, and a pair of earrings I made from an Anthropologie necklace.

I can't wait for the rest of the pictures to be edited!! It was just a truly perfect weekend! So four weddings down, four more to go before the season is over!!

Weddings, Crafts, & Huts...

Sorry for the silence this week. We had a friend's wedding and Lou's first birthday over the weekend. AND we have my sister-in-law's wedding this weekend!! Not to mention, my husband and I volunteered to teach Christian's class at our church's Sunday School this year. Needless to say, I have been up to my eyeballs in arts & crafts.   I secretly love it, but my neglected children would probably say otherwise ("No Lou, please stop running with the Xacto knife in your hand....Christian, please put down the scalding hot iron").

Anyway, I did give myself a hot minute to read my new House Beautiful, while watching the Bachelor Pad (CAN YOU BELIEVE WHAT NICK DID?!).

But seriously, I was obsessed with the series the magazine did, "American in..." They followed different Americans to their homes abroad, my favorite was Kenya. For the first time in my life, I actually wanted to live in a hut. Well, there were actually four huts to make up a compound, but you get the idea. I mean, they even have an orphaned cheetah cub that hangs out on their sofa! Check out this amazing Suzanne Kasler design...

I mean, I have wanted a baby cheetah since I saw African Cats. And that outdoor shower? To die for! The master bath? Perfection. You can read the rest of the article here! Oh, and the owners claim that the animals on the conservation never go inside (besides the invited ones)...but I find that a little hard to believe!

I hope everyone has a happy & safe weekend!! I know I will be having fun...
