Oh Sandy!

Sandy came & went!! Luckily, we only lost power for 4 hours and had minimal damage. This was def. my favorite image of Sandy...

My thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected by the hurricane. While cooped up inside, I was going a little crazy. Since I already have almost everyone room in my house redesigned, I redesigned my china. I didn't receive any of my china as wedding gifts, so I have always wanted to start my own set. This is what I am thinking....

Amazing, right?! Now, I just need about $3,000 to buy 10 settings....Oh well!!

It's All In the Details...

In my opinion, there are a few little things that that go a long way in your house! These are my top five...

1. Matching Hangers.

2. Organizing Clothes by Color.

3. Organizing Books By Color.

4. Same/Similar Containers.

5. LABELS! LABELS! LABELS!

And by favorite I mean, if you don't have these in your house, I judge you :) Kidding, kind of.

Study. Part II.

I want to create a small sitting area in the study. I'm really torn about what look I should go for. Here are a few of my idea (in no particular order)...

So what do you think? Decisions, decisions...

Study. Part I.

Hi! Missed ya, mean it. I have been super super busy. I've been working on a bunch of new projects with clients, which has been awesome. Last weekend was our first weekend home since Labor Day, and the entire family was out with the stomach flu! Not to mention my husband started with a new company over the weekend...let me know if you are in the market for an amazing financial advisor :) I'm getting really excited about remodeling our kitchen, I went to Ikea and picked out cabinetry. Hopefully construction will begin November 1st!!! In the meantime, I am working on the other rooms in the house. Onto the study...

1. Benjamin Moore Black 2132-10 (2) Pendant Lights (3) Ikea Hack - See Below (Vittsjo Shelving Unit) (4) iMac (5) Brass Desk (already own, another hack option here) (6) Ghost Desk Chairs

Tomorrow, Part II of the Study.

Kitchie/Dining Room

My thoughts on our kitchen/dining room combo are still a little scattered. We are hoping to start our kitchen sometime late fall/early winter. Remember my post about my dream kitchen (inspired from the kitchen below)....

This is still 100% the direction I am going, plus these light fixtures...

Hammered Metal Pendant for over my breakfast bar & sink

Big City Chandelier for over my dining room table

Since my dining room will now be open to my kitchen, I will be painting the entire room white!! I'm really into all white rooms right now, which is bizarre since my dining room is currently painted my favorite color, Benjamin Moore Palladian Blue. I will be keeping my antique dining table which is a less rustic version of this table...

I have a set of 4 chairs that I bought off Craig's List forever ago. I am planning on reupholstering them in a spotted fabric and painting the wood white, so it will end up looking similar to theses chairs...

(See Post Here About My Dalmatian Obsession)

I will obviously keep my sunburst mirrors (my most favorite HomeGoods find, ever).

Right now I have a bunch of vintage Italian maps framed, which I think I will keep hanging in order to add some color...

As for counter stools, I'm either going to go with this one from CB2

or try to find a neat vintage piece from Craig's List or Ebay, like this...

That is what I have so far....next up, The Study!!!
