Scatterbrained.

A brief look into my seriously attention deficit brain....

1) Michele from Calico Daisy sent me an promo code for anyone ordering from her! (You can read the post here about her amazing work). She is offering free shipping to all my readers. Michele is also great with custom work (I was going to have her monogram a shower curtain and possibly some dining room chair slipcovers), so do not hesitate to ask her about any other project you may have! Here is the code: MSIFALL2012

2) I spent most of the week rearranging my Pinterest boards. Seriously so time consuming and maybe a waste of time, but I can sleep a little better at night. Check out all my boards and start following me!

3) I have an update on my client's living room! Her pillows came in for the sofa and they seriously look amazing! Remember this?

Here is her sofa coming together...

And the rug (which looks amazing by the way, I was there when it was delivered and I am obsessed)...

And the coasters....

3) I'm working with another client on their dining room and a few other parts of their home. They are close friends and have given me a ton of "designer challenges". We literally spent 4 hours rearranging their bookshelves! Here it is now (still a work in progress):

And here is our idea for the dining room:

They already have the furniture, so we only have to order the chandelier, the botanical prints (which we downloaded from Vintage Printables, post here), and the rug. I'm making curtains for the window in the room, using this fabric.

We are really excited about it! Obvi, will post update pics. And remember, if you are interested in having me help you design or redesign a room, here is my post with all the information. Have a great holiday!

World Market!

I did my usual routine last night: put the kids to bed, turn on my DVRed Bachelor Pad (45 minutes in, obvi), and open Pinterest on my iPad. I literally had to pause Blakely mid-cry because of all these amazing items from World Market that were pinned. Those that don't know - World Market is a combo of Ikea, Crate and Barrel, and Anthropologie. I've bought a ton of great items from there in the past for my own home. I decided to keep my DVR paused to browse the entire website and I was in awe! I absolutely needed half of the items from World Market. Here are some of my favs (and looks to go with it):

SO so so many great things, right?!

PS How happy are you that Sarah & Chris stayed another week!! Woohoo!

Calico Daisy Handmade

One of my favorite all time companies is Leontine Lines. I have this image in my head of rehabbing an old mansion somewhere and covering it, head to toe, in Leontine.

While I can not afford them yet, I have found an amazing substitute. CalicoDaisy Handmade is an Etsy store that I am absolutely in love with! Remember these from my house?

Both from CalicoDaisy! Michele, the owner, is a dream to work with. The first time I ordered from her, we talked on the phone for about an hour, talking business.  For Christian's pillows, I wanted a specific fabric to match his chevron skirted table. We found the exact fabric and Michele ordered it, no extra cost! She is so sweet and truly passionate about her business. Here are some more of her designs:

So fun! I just ordered a "Miss Shoup" pillow for my sister's first grade classroom. I can not wait to see how it turns out!

Kitchies On My Mind

I literally can not stop thinking about remodeling my kitchen. It has actually consumed me. I've been wanting to remodel my kitchen for a long time, but I saw a picture on Pinterest that made my desire for a new kitchen like ten million times more....

(via Pinterest)

I have seen this image before, but this time it just got stuck in my head, most likely because underneath the pin it said "Ikea High Gloss White Cabinets."  Chickaaa whattttt!?! So, I became obsessed even more. This picture is from Canadian House & Home and I actually found an entire video tour of the house (seriously amazing)!! Like literally, my dream home. So, my next step, after ordering a subscription to House & Home, was to go on Ikea's website and design my new kitchie. Before I saw the high gloss kitchen, I had made this rough sketch of what I wanted my kitchen to look like:

So, I combined the two images in my head...and added a few extras...

Clockwise from top (1) Open shelving with few floating Ikea High Gloss White Lack Shelves (2) Polished brass campaign hardware via Ansaldi & Sons (3) White Viking Chimney Hood Vent with Brass Accent (4) Brass Colored Waste & Recycle Bins (5) Large Brass Elephant Pulls for the Pantries (6) Brass Toe-kick (7) High Gloss White Cabinets

I'm still up in the air about the chandelier and over the sink lighting. Obviously, I know want either Danby Gray Marble, White Carrara Mable, or White River Granite countertops.

Now, I just need to get my husband and contractor on board...

Simply Coasters.

Last night a friend asked me to help her find new coasters for living room. Her current ones are totally scratching up her coffee table. Obviously, my first thought was IOMOI...

(All Images via IOMOI)

Although amazing, at $108 for 4 coasters, it was a little out of our budget (one day, one day...). So, I did the next obvious thing, went on Etsy. I found a ton of options such as these amazing ones, both under $16 for 4 coasters...

We will probably end up getting a mix of both. I so excited, I just love picking out little accessories that can add so much to a room.

I will say, I could not help myself on IOMOI...I ended up getting my daughter a present for her first birthday!! Miss Lou Lou will be receiving one custom Muffy Clutch (accented in orange leather), every one year olds dream :)

Brilliant Powder Room

I recently had an epiphany on where to put a half bath on my first floor. I have always assumed we would (eventually) convert the small mudroom off the kitchen into a powder room. However, I knew it would be pricey because we would have to do A TON of work. We would need to tear stairs down, close off walls, stabilize the structure, add HVAC, add water lines, flooring, insulation, etc... I had one contractor give me a rough estimate of about $20,000!! Insanity. I figured we could win the lottery or sell one of the kids to afford it...

Randomly, while taking a shower, I thought of a better location for the half bathroom. I literally hopped out, grabbed a towel and ran down my stairs (I'm pretty sure I still had conditioner in my hair). My back room/office would be perfect! I instantly started mapping out where everything would go. The back room of our house is an addition originally put on by the architect in the 40's which leads to a sunroom. I think I can still keep the right side as an office "nook" and close off the left side, turning it into a half bath. The addition already has heat and a water line from a hose on the outside wall. I'm not sure if my idea is at all possible, but obviously, I'm already started thinking how I want to decorate the powder room.

This is what I know I need: wallpaper, amazing mirror, gorgeous vanity, unique brass sconces, barn door entrance. Too much? I don't think so...
